Entry-level: ’72 Triumph TR6

1972 Triumph TR6

There are a gazillion British sports cars available out there so why would we pick this one? Well, it is original and cheap plus it has a bunch of recent money spent on it in the right places. It still sports its Saffron Yellow paint applied at the factory and although it has some blemishes, I am sure they won’t detract from enjoying this one. The seller states it is accident and rust free and everything is functioning as it should. The odometer shows 61,000 miles and is believed to be original too. Read More

Big brute: Land Rover Series IIA

Land Rover Fr

We do not know a lot about this Landie other than what we saw when we spotted it in the camping area at Lime Rock Park. It is RHD and it looked to be in pretty good shape. Read More

Found at Lime Rock Park Race Track: ’60 MGA Racer

1960 MGA

What’s not to love about this MGA. It has been at least 4 different colors and it is originally Old English White. If you stripped off the paint it would probably shed 50 pounds. The car has just been unearthed by our friends at Oxford Motor Cars and it is oozing with patina and has some interesting provenance. The MGA came from a garage racer who campaigned a few MGA Twin-Cams. When each Twin-Cam broke they put the good stuff on this 1600. Read More

Still available: ’60 Austin-Healey 3000 MK I

Austin-Healey 3000 MK I

We spotted this back in July and it cropped up again on Craigslist. We still think it looks worthy of some additional attention. Unless of course one of our readers has seen it and it is a fright pig!

We like Big Healeys very much. They call them Big Healeys because they replaced the smaller 100-4. What else could they call it? The first attempt at the 6-cylinder car was the 100-6. Of all Healeys, big & small, it is our least favorite. That doesn’t mean we wouldn’t buy one if a really special one came along. In 1959, the twin SU carb 3000 MK I debuted and it was a much better engine. Read More

Landie ho! : ’69 Land Rover Series IIA Defender 88

69 Land Rover Series IIA frNot much to go on here as the seller is rather tight lipped about the details. He does say that it can be driven everyday. Unless you are John Wayne in Daktari, we aren’t sure how much fun that would be. Read More

Well done: ’71 MGB Event-ready

1971 MGB Race car

We can be really brief with this one. The seller’s eBay listing does a fine job of describing the immaculate preparation effort lavished on this solid, good-looking MGB. It is said to be event ready and it looks like it. If you are new to TSD rallies or any track events, you might look too good for skill level. But that’s okay for us. The modifications are well thought out and the quality of the parts seem to us to be top-notch. We love the plexiglass headlight covers and the safety hood latches. Read More
